You need to get to know Him!  If you think we know Him through our circumstances, then you don't really know Him.

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back,
my soul shall have no pleasure in Him.

(Hebrews 10:17  KJV)

If we are going to know God better, then we must remember that the just shall live by faith.  The only way to know God is through faith.  The vision that you can't touch yet is a sign that you can have it.  Without faith, it is impossible to please God.  God will take you through something that only a spiritual eye can help you get out of.  You have to be able to see in the spirit realm in order to get the answers that you need.  Having faith (having hope) is being able to believe in something even when you can not see it.  If you can see it, then there is no reason to hope for it.  Worshipping allows you to enter into the spirit realm; this is where you can "See God".

If we are going to know God better,  then we must understand that our flesh has to be broken.  We have to "die" to ourselves and "come alive again" in Christ Jesus.  The Bible says that we have to worship Him in the spirit realm only.

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers
shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father
                                            seeketh such to worship him.
(John 4:23  KJV)

We can not get to the substance of God unless we have faith.  Let's look at Noah.  God instructed Noah to build a boat.    Now remember the story, when God told this to Noah, the people had never experienced rain.  Noah could have disobeyed God and chosen to not build the boat, but we all know the end of the story:  Noah was told to build a boat on dry land; he and his family was spared God's wrath.  Everything that was outside of the boat was washed away.   Build a boat on your dry situation!

Let's talk about some barriers of faith.

Carnality.  To be "carnal" means to be worldly, or to operate as the world does.  The world operates and base their decisions off of the laws of the land.  Those who walk after the flesh operates and base their dicisions off of the laws of the spirit.  Romans 8 says;

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in
Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Word Starvation-  If you do not feed your spirit man the Word of God daily (which is food for the spirit), then you are causing a major barrier in your faith walk.  The Word of God is the only way to help you to strengthen yourself as you continue on this journey called "life".  The Bible speaks of a time when the Word of God will be silent; people will search for "the Word" and will not be able to find it.

Negative Faith-
Self prophecy causes negative faith.  Be careful with self-help books.  Although reading other materials outside of the Bible is an assess to your spiritual growth, they don't take the place of a prophet.  A prophet gives you direct messages from the Spirit of God, while self-help books speak to the general audiance.  True prophets are very valuable to the body because there are still many who are faithful church goers, but they still don't take the time to enter the spirit realm.  True Prophets enter that realm frequently and are able to deliver a Word from the Lord to you.  Please know that a prophet will not prophecy anythig to you unless it can be backed up by the Word of God.  This is another reason to read God's Word to receive confirmation.

But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy
heart, that thou mayest do it.
(Deuteronomy 30:14)

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in  the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: And they shall wander from sea to sea and from the                                          north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.  (Amos 8: 11, 12)
